Washington, DC – A new nonpartisan, research-driven strategy and policy consultancy launched this week, focused on supporting the transition toward clean energy.
Having officially launched on July 14, Tomorrow Energy Partners (TEP) aims to solve the hardest climate and clean energy problems by combining technical precision and creative problem-solving to cut through policy, regulatory, and market complexity.
“We believe unlocking the full potential of clean energy is achievable through favorable policy, rigorous research, and cutting-edge solutions,” said Alex Breckel, CEO and Founder. “Our team is excited to help clients solve energy policy problems, hone advocacy strategies, design effective workshops, and operate high-impact organizations.”
Focus areas include federal and state policy development and analysis, clean energy innovation, energy systems and deployment, bipartisan engagement, and coalition management.
“The world needs experts available that can partner with non-profits, philanthropy, industry, and coalitions of all types to drive real change,” said Lindsey Baxter Griffith, President and Founder. “Our focus on pragmatic and durable solutions is key to moving quickly and strategically in improving energy deployment and the innovation economy.”
The TEP team has decades of experience across legislative, executive branch, non-profit, and philanthropy roles. There are currently eight full-time staff. The firm’s principals include:
- Alex Breckel, CEO and Founder: Uniting engineering discipline with policy acumen, Alex is regarded as a leading figure in the research, advocacy, and coalition-building that energy infrastructure deployment requires. He formerly served as Director of Clean Energy Infrastructure Deployment at Clean Air Task Force, head of research at the Energy Futures Initiative, in national energy strategy and power-systems recovery at the Department of Energy, and in market design advisory for the U.S. Department of State.
- Lindsey Baxter Griffith, President and Founder: Lindsey’s distinguishing talent is for the building and growing of institutions. She previously led the start-up and growth of Clean Air Task Force Action, which expanded considerably under her stewardship. Her leadership shaped the clean energy tax provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, the demonstration investments of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and key authorizations in the Energy Act of 2020.
- Evan Chapman, Senior Director: Pairing the legislative instincts that come from nearly a decade on Capitol Hill with a career long focus on clean energy, Evan turns policy ambition into durable action. He most recently led policy development and advocacy at Clean Air Task Force and previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to Congressman Donald McEachin, with earlier roles for Congressman Bobby Scott and Senator Jim Webb. His work helped shape the clean energy and environmental provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
